Celebrating One Year of Growth and Systemic Understanding

It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since Traumatization and Its Aftermath was released. My life has been completely different since August 29th, 2023. The book won two different awards and was on the top sales list on Amazon for months. My intention of providing more detailed information about what trauma entails has been well received. I can't express my gratitude!

Writing this book was a deeply personal journey, a dream of several years, and a kid of the pandemic. Seeing how it has resonated with so many of you has been profoundly moving. For example, this one came from a reader just recently:

"Traumatization and its aftermath by Antonieta Contreras is an amazing book. It helped me to understand how much my emotional wounds from childhood and life in general changed the perception of my world in a very negative way. It threw me in a loop of anxiety. It was affecting my own narrative. As a result, I was alienating myself for my own protection and becoming a prisoner of my emotions crushing my hope for life. This book helped me to understand how the pathways of my brain and mind were affected by my emotional wounds that were very important for my growth. It was possible due to the concise, empathetic, and detailed description of Traumatization, The Science of Trauma, Systemic Cost of Traumatization and Healing Traumatization. It helped me tremendously to resolve my struggles and be able to calm, regulate and heal my brain as resolving deep issues and correct them. Traumatization and its aftermath guide me to my awareness. I needed it. That was the key to my healing process. Awareness I was able to reach once I was reading this book. It provides me the clarity that I was looking for my whole life. Now, I know I reach a sense of control that I feel now in my life, my capacity to influence my own thoughts and behavior and how I have faith in my ability to handle a wide range of challenges and situations that life brings. This book helped me to become my best friend in a nurtured and compassionate way to enjoy my life. Now that I can see reality, I can live in the here and now. My past is not my present anymore. Excellent work!!"

In this amazing year, I've had the absolute honor of connecting with readers and professionals who are truly passionate about delving into and tackling trauma head-on! Their incredible insights and stories have taken this work to new heights, surpassing even my wildest expectations. The comments have been not just inspiring, but also deeply touching.

During 2024, I am engaging more closely with a therapist and will continue to receive direct impressions while presenting on some of the book contributions. I gave a workshop on the systemic approach in Mexico in August, a will give a couple of talks on interventions targeting two different types of freeze and the neurobiological differences across trauma syndromes at the European Society for Trauma and Dissociation Congress in Poland in October, as well as a talk at the ISSTD Conference in November. Join my list and I will keep you informed of other participations in the future, including online workshops.

I greatly appreciate your presence on this incredible journey of growth and recovery.

I’d love to hear from you—how has the book impacted your understanding of trauma and resolution? Please share your thoughts in the comments or send me a message. Your reflections and experiences are invaluable!

If you haven’t yet, grab your copy and join the discussion!

If you have yours, it’d be amazing if you leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads.

Thanks again!

With deep appreciation

Antonieta
